Sometimes when I look at my life, I get dizzy. I was sure that I was going to become a veterinarian, but when I didn’t get into vet school for the second time, I changed course and became a computer scientist — in Artificial Intelligence, no less. I built and taught people how to build expert systems for about 10 years. Then I took another course correction and created a consulting company with a bunch of friends. We focused on helping high-tech startups with their documentation, training, and customer support programs. I ran that consulting business for over 20 years. Over the last 40 years, I have worked for businesses, managed businesses, owned businesses, and provided management consulting for businesses (both for-profit and nonprofit). Yes, I embrace technology, but I also know how it can cause havoc if we let it get out of balance in our lives.
My spiritual path came to life in the 1990s. It all started with a poem on a CD jacket for Kenny Loggin’s Leap of Faith album:

“Be still, listen to the voice.
In truth, we do all we can.
We are not man in search of God, but God in search of man.“
A few years later, a coworker introduced me to June Burke and Julian. I soon understood that I had found my spiritual home. After a few years of workshops, I was asked to join the more advanced studies. I took the Self Development and Practical Magus classes in the late 1990s until June passed. In 2017, I started studying the mystical side of the studies with Sam Holland and Andrea Smith. I completed Julian’s Mystical Magus studies in 2020, and I am currently a long way through the Transition Energy classes. I also regularly attend Temier’s Pathways and Healing Gathering sessions, along with the Master Classes that Temier gives a few times a year. I am a forever student.
I have been a lifelong musician and supporter of the arts. It is what has kept me sane during the “difficult periods.” I play the piano and the Native American flute, and I sing — although not so well anymore.
For many years, I considered myself an athlete, especially a volleyball player. I consider movement both a joy and a necessity. I have been strong and adventurous throughout most of my life. I feel much more at home sitting alone in a remote forest than walking through a city.
Weight has been a struggle for me since I was in my late teens. In my quest to correct the issue, I have learned more about nutrition than most nutritionists. I am a lifetime Bright Line Eating member. I try not to proselytize. I understand that one diet doesn’t fit all, however, I am deeply disturbed by what manufactured food is doing to the health of our society.

My Personal Mission Statement
This mission statement was given to me over 30 years ago. Each year I have learned to understand this mission more and more. I have turned my life over to my mission. Let me help you find and live yours.
My mission is to help others
Achieve their goals,
Fulfill their missions,
And live their dreams.
To fulfill this mission, I not only take actions that directly assist others in achieving their goals, but I also help others:
- Define their goals, express their missions, and dream their dreams
- Create plans to achieve their goals, missions, and dreams
- Find the courage and motivation to execute their plans
- Appreciate what they have accomplished in the process
The things that I do to fulfill this mission are:
- Listen carefully to understand completely
- Teach love and respect for all things, including one’s self
- Continue to increase my skills so that I can pass them on to others
