In 1978, the seraph, Julian, began delivering a series of 237 classes (though June Burke) that later became known as the Self Development (aka Development) class. Through written material, guided meditations, and class discussions, these classes help participants develop a deep awareness of the inner self and the self’s relationship to the universe. This awareness leads to bringing balance and wholeness to the self. From this space of balance and wholeness, a deep acceptance of one’s abilities and self-worth is born. This is the foundation for expansion into comprehending our relationship with the universe.
Julian described Self-Development as a study that “develops an awareness of yourself; from that, an ability to balance the self; and from that balance, an ability to see the relationship to the rest of the universe. From the relationship to the universe, there is an ability to cross beyond the universe into the source of energy. You are really being trained, not to develop your psychic senses, but to develop your sensitivity to knowing, and there is a difference. One is a treasure hunt; the other an acceptance.”
In the 1990s, June Burke and Camille Albrecht developed a condensed version of the Self Development material, called the Self Awareness Series, which covers a carefully chosen subset of the sessions to provide a quick learning ramp for students new to the Julian material. Self Awareness Series consists of 7 groups of 5 sessions each (35 sessions total). (For more information about Julian, June Burke, and the Self-Development Class please go to julianteachings.com.)
The class is especially good for people who have at least some experience with meditation but want to expand their understanding of esoteric studies. The subjects of the third eye, the chakras, seeing auras, the Void, and manifestation are covered along with many others. Example topics from Series 1 are:
- Experiencing a sense of oneness; the Waterfall Cleansing
- Meeting new aspects of the self; rarifying the senses
- The acceptance of something new; releasing anger
- Experiencing the self as light; getting a new view of responsibility
- The four foundations; happiness is a state of mind; the Light Worker affirmation
